Along with her extracurricular involvement, Cherry is passionate about scientific research, specifically in water related fields. Throughout 2021, she completed an extensive project exploring the impacts of nitrate on water along with its removal methods. This work culminated in a 30 page report which has been published as part of the Hydrology and Water Resources Symposium conference proceedings. Additionally, Cherry presented her research in a 20 minute oral presentation at the highly acclaimed national conference which was run by Engineers Australia, the peak engineering body in the nation.

Outside of academics, Cherry runs her own YouTube channel where she has been able to develop her public speaking skills and is an active baker and rower.
