Sairaa Pazhannur is a high school student in a select-entry school in Melbourne, Australia. An avid learner and extensive interest in social issues and educating children. An active participant in volunteering and local cultural events and a firm background in leadership with the role of school captain in a previous school.

Apart from being a high academic performer at school, dancing is really one of my most prevalent passions. I’ve learnt to dance since I could walk, and this passion propelled me to complete my Bharatanatyam Arangetram in Year 7, resulting in a diploma in Indian Classical Dancing and being qualified to begin teaching other students. The confidence from my stage performances has also become a transferable skill to utilise in public speaking and debating. My vivacious reading and passion for writing and storytelling comes from my childhood, devouring any book that was set before me.

Outside of all that, my hobbies include reading, dancing and listening to music, particularly BTS and Taylor Swift, who are some of the biggest role models due to their persistence and attitude towards change and development. I’m also a passionate cook with a sweet tooth and can often be found perusing the internet for new and exciting recipes to attempt if I’m not hidden in the shelves of my school library, looking for my next read.
